Keep your current plan or switch · Enrollment handled for you · Group 401(k) available
Focused Business Partners provides employee benefits through a health insurance agency that’s part of our PEO. Your company stays the sponsor of your health plan, while we act as your broker and handle plan setup, enrollment, and administration. You can keep the plan you have now or choose a new one from the open market.

Better Benefits Without Being Locked Into One Plan

As companies grow past 30 or 40 employees, benefits become a hiring tool. But many owners worry that joining a PEO means giving up the health plan their employees already like, or moving everyone onto a plan they didn’t choose.

With us, you don’t have to do either. You choose the plan, and we take the paperwork off your plate.

How Benefits Work With a Texas PEO

Under Texas PEO rules, both the PEO and the client company count as employers for sponsoring benefit plans, and a PEO may sponsor one health plan that covers employees across many client companies (TDLR). That’s how many PEOs work: every client joins the PEO’s plan.

We work differently. Your company stays the sponsor of its own plan, and we manage it for you. That means you choose your coverage instead of inheriting ours.

Switching Mid-Year Without Losing Deductible Progress

1

Review your current plan
We look at what you have and what your team uses.

2

Keep it or compare options
Stay on your plan, or let us shop the open market.

3

Protect what employees already spent
If you start a new plan mid-year, we apply for a deductible credit so employees don’t restart their deductibles.
Deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums reset each calendar year. A switch in October shouldn’t send your team back to zero for the last three months.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who sponsors our health plan if we work with Focused Business Partners?

Your company does. Unlike PEOs that put every client on one master plan, we keep the plan in your company’s name. Our in-house agency acts as your broker and handles setup, enrollment, and administration.

Can we keep our current health plan?

Yes. If you’re happy with your plan, you don’t need to change it. We can become your broker of record, or leave the plan exactly as it is and still handle your payroll and HR.

If we switch plans mid-year, do employees lose their deductible progress?

They shouldn’t. Deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums run on a calendar year, so when we start a new plan mid-year, we apply for a deductible credit. That way employees keep credit for what they’ve already spent.

Do you offer a 401(k) plan?

Yes. We offer a group 401(k) product. Your company remains the plan sponsor, and we handle the setup and payroll deductions.

Who handles benefits enrollment?

We do. We set up your plans and run enrollment for current employees and new hires, so your office manager isn’t chasing forms.
